Day 14 Dinner out with Mr. Nice
So one of Lee's friends was nice enough to ask me to dinner tonight...superfun!! Not to mention it is perfect timing because Telle has the hangover from Hell... so she won't even miss me...teehee.
First Stop...a walk through a park in Abbotsford at dusk. There is a convent on the property and a children's farm....... no, not farming children...a farm for them...or wait..even that sounds weird. Regardless, it was beautiful and a bit of a challenging walk but well worth it.
The sky was the most amazing shade of purple I have ever seen. I can't believe the camera captured so much...
Amazing food that almost didn't make the photo....
Turkish bread with dip. Salt and Pepper Calamari, lightly breaded and served with a baby arugala salad. Last and best, a pumkin parcel (acorn squash to us) with spinach, feta and pastry shell over herb cream. Heaven...
On our way home we spotted some elusive midnight sunflowers.

My charming escort was kind enough to take me to "The Retreat Hotel." It's a restaurant folks...don't think dirty. It is a bit of a landmark here in Melb as it is featured on a superpopular Aussie soap opera.

Thanks to Mr. Nice for such a wonderful evening. A man of many talents, in addition to the successful launching of his corporation, he is also an accomplished musician, successful DJ, and exceptional artist/animator. And most importantly he is a hummus expert, making him already one of my favorite people.

Day 13 INTERPOL!!!!!!!
So late in the evening, in our hungover stupor, I mentioned to Mark that I was an Interpol fan. Lo and behold, Interpol were playing the following day!!! Of course the show was sold out, so Telle and I scrambled to find tix for the three of us. Which we did, all over the city of Melbourne. We bought two from ebay and one from a craigslist type site called Gumtree.
Saw this on the way to meet with ticket number one!
This purse would just about hold the amount of money I spent while here...or me, or maybe both. The real tragedy of this photo is that this thing doesn't open...because you don't know how much I would have loved a pic with me inside.
On the way to meet ticket number three we stoped at Telle's job. What didn't know, but found out from one of her supervisors, is that Chantelle was hand selected by the world's top polymer scientist to work on his nanotechnologie project. (Anyone who has seen "The Hulk," it's like that except no radiation) Although... I've seen Telle turn pretty green...hehe.

Alright before you get too excited...no cameras were allowed in so I don't have any concert pics yet. Mark took some with his camera phone and will send them to me eventually. These are just some cool post amazing concert pics.
Day 12 Hungover....Ugh
So this day was pretty uneventful because of the festivities the evening before. We ventured out at the respectable hour of 4:00pm, and then only in search of amazing Vietnamese food.
There was actually a concert or something going on... I'm not quite sure what.
Flinders Street Station, one of the main train stations. This was on the way to my sisters new place. Her flat is in a great location.
Federation Square, kinda like Union SQ for us but a little more compact and it is actually up against the water, behind the buildings on the right.

Sorry for the lame post. After dinner Telle, Mark (T's flatmate), and I all went back to our place and watched "Into the Wild." All of us were recovering and needed some movies and cuddle time...Lol. Tomorrow will be better....Promise.

Day 11 Art Shows, Launch Parties, and Jam Sessions....Oh My
So day 2 in Melbourne....longest day ever... but full of excitement!!!
Well.....this one probably doesn't come as much of a shock. Apparently, witches ride on palm fronds here....who knew.
Telle with her favorite Vag..... Please Note: This is not her vagina.....I repeat this is not her vagina...
And of course me and my favorite... Believe me if you asked what I was going to do this morning taking this photo would not have been on the list.....
Telle and I with the Cunt master himself...
Actually the artist was really interesting and all of the models were volunteers between the ages of 18-70. It was a really cool exhibit, every sculpture was soooooo different and it really did make you feel empowered as a woman. Or at least like Damn... my vajay is lookin' good because there are some rreeeeallllly scary ones.....
My Aussie fam....just to fill you in we have been friends with this Australian family for almost 10 years. From Left to right...Cory, Miranda, Stew, Telle, Me, Mum, Dad, and Dylan. His whole familly showed up for the launch party for Stew's new comedy show, "Greatness Thrust Upon Them." Last year Stew and his Lady, Lorin, put up a show that won awards at the Melbourne Comedy festival and they hope to win again this year. Lorin also writes and produces a successful kids show.... Pretty cool.
Amazing jam session in Abbotsford. Electronic beats and mixing paired with guitar and base....It was really fun.
